Course Instructor(s)

  • Jennifer Pereira, LPC-S, RD, LD, IEDS

Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered/Licensed Dietitian. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Nutrition Counseling, and obtained her Master's in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. She has been working with people with disordered eating since 2005 at many levels of care. She and her amazing team at Austin Counseling and Nutrition work closely together to provide an inclusive, safe experience for their clients. In 2006, she was fortunate enough to work alongside Jessica Setnick in her practice in Dallas. The following year, she opened her own practice, Nutrition Paradox. During this time, she was devastated by how many of her clients could not get access to higher levels of treatment because of insurance or out-of-pocket costs. In 2012, she felt compelled to open Project Bliss, a non-profit home for the treatment of eating disorders. Project Bliss provided full and partial scholarships for many clients who otherwise would not have been able to access residential treatment. Sadly, she had to close Project Bliss in 2015 due to funding. In 2015, her family moved to Austin, where she continued her private practice. In 2020, due to the high demand for eating disorder treatment, she started a group practice of a mix of counselors and dietitians, all able to help people with eating disorders and body image issues.
